Is it part of Fibromyalgia?

Hi
About 10 years ago I was diagnosised with Fibromyalgia after years of pain. Lately I have had some problems with my muscles I have not had before.
All of a sudden the muscles in my arms become very weak and I can not move them for about a minute or two. Then I am able to move them but my arms feel like wet noodles....they have no strength and it is a true effort to move them.
Is that part of FM? Or could it be something more serious like MS?
Thanks for your time and God Bless!!!

I'm very glad to see this comment! It's the same for me but also includes my legs.  Trying to take a shower PLUS wash my hair drains me for a day! I tremble, shake and a strange painful weakness. I'm so weak and I want to do something (easy to start out with) to build my muscles back up.
Good luck!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms of sudden weakness in arms can be due to fibromyalgia. However, these could also be due to compression of spinal nerves at the cervical vertebrae. Hence a MRI of the cervical spine should be done. MS too is a possibility but since only arms are involved, less likely. However if no other cause is found, a brain MRI will be required t rule this out.
Hope this helps. Take care!
