Kidney Cancer - Scared

Alright, i'm 17, and weigh about 300 pounds.  I am OCD and take alot of medicine.  I don't drink water that often.  First my feet swelled up, then they went down, now my back hurts, around the kidney area, right flank pain, and sometimes left flank pain, and upper back pain, and when I get a pain in my back, I also feel a pain in my left at the same time.  It hurts when I sit down and not that much when I move.  If someone could tell me what you think is wrong, that would be great.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you had swelling in your feet followed by flank and back pain, then in all likelihood you have either stone or infection in the kidney. Please follow this up ASAP with your urologist. To begin with you will need to get urine examination, and CT scan of abdomen.
Please discuss with your parents too.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

What are your parents doing/saying about all this?

I would recommend having your parents taking you to your Family Physician/PCP to sort all this out.

I am not sure if all the OCD medications are causing a problem or the obesity or something else; something for your physician to figure out.

Hey there. Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time with being scared from this. My opinion is that you have something way less serious like a kidney stone. Kidney stones cause flank pain, as well as lower and upper back pain. Don't try to diagnose yourself. If you are truly worried about the pain you are experiencing, go see a doctor. It is always your best bet.

As I'm sure you know 300 pounds is very overweight. I know it's hard to keep off weight and exercise, and sometimes there's just not enough time in the day for it. But being overweight will inevitably lead to many, many health problems. I say this to you because you are only 17 and you have a chance to avoid all the problems that being overweight causes- heart problems, lung problems, liver, kidney, you name it. Death rates due to obesity are drastically on the rise. Change this while you are young and can still do so!

As for being OCD and taking a lot of medicine- this too is never a good idea. If you get a very bad headache, by all means take a Tylenol or an Advil. But constantly taking medication is not only bad for you but it can cause liver problems later on in life. The body has one killer immune system. You would be surprised how efficiently it cures itself of many infections/sicknesses.
