I posted a question earlier today about my bp being low. It's 102/79 heart rate of 94. What I failed to mention is I am receiving chemotherapy and radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy treatments. Would this have any berring on my bp?
Possibly. It depends upon the drug and the protocol. Ask your oncologist. Sometimes chemo causes systemicSystemic lupus erythematosus Systemic lupus erythematosus rash on the face vasodilation, increasing body capacitance, which could acount for your numbers. I would not be overly concerned. Oncologists know what they are doing and have treated many patients. I hope everything turns out well.
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, chemotherapy and radiation treatments can cause increased pulse rate and lower blood pressure. As Caregiver mentioned in the earlier post, higher heart rate can be a compensatory mechanism too. In your case it could be due to high metabolism in the body due to aggressive treatment. Do discuss this with your oncologist for they are the best people who can help you out.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
