I have been having these same problems for the past 3 months now. My hair was literally falling out in chunks. I couldn't brush it or anything, and the constipation came about the same time. When i went to see my doctor about it he said it was strictly "stress", and that it would pass as my stress levels go down. I would suggest seeing your doctor and taking it from there.

Hello,

Various possibilities are there. Constipation can be caused by the slow passage of digesting food through any part of the intestine. Other causes are suppression of the urge to defecate, diet low in fiber, over-use of stimulant laxatives (e.g., senna, castor oil, and certain herbs), hypothyroidism and hyperparathyroidism(by raising the calcium levels in the blood), intestinal pseudo-obstruction,irritable bowel syndrome, adhesions, colon inertia, mucosa associated lymphoid tissue, porphyria and stomach or upper GI malignancy.

Constipation is an important cause of hair loss.Once it is treated, hair loss will also be treated. Increase the fiber amount in your diet. The best natural sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. If still the symptoms persist then pls consult a gastroenterologist and discuss these possibilities and get yourself evaluated.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
