Do you live in the country? Or rural enough area where you have chickens or possibly birds in the house. Histoplasmosis will cause the exact type of blisters you are talking about. This is a fungal disease caused from the spores in the feces from the birds. You can stir up the spores when cleaning up after them, in the dirt for chickens and in the bottom of cages of many other types of birds. A skin or blood test can help get to the bottom of this. If your Dr. won't do it, find a internal medicine Dr. or pulmonary Dr. Hope this helps.
I had the same problem and it got worse over the years until last year I tried lysine which did not help me. Then I discovered sodium laurel sulfate is in all "regular" toothpastes. Some people have a problem with this ingredient. So I went the health food store and bought a pste there that doesn't have that. The sores began to heal and I only a 1 every 6 months or so. I ran out 10 days ago and now have 3 in my mouth as I type. Hope this helps.
If it is cold sores, ask your doc for a prescription topical med. zovirax (think that is the spelling), it works like a maricle for me. I get a deep itch and tingle then a throb when I am about to get a fever blister and that med sometimes actually keeps them from coming out and forming. If I dont catch it in time to apply the med before they come out, it still helps to heal them much faster. Also noticed since moving to a cold climate and stopped tanning they dont come out hardly ever. Hope this helps~
It does sound like Herpes Simplex 1, (cold sores). This virus
fluid will spread by opening them like you say you do. People
think these cold sores/fever blisters only happen on the lip.
It is contagious during the spread stage & also effects gums,
mouth, & also can transfer to cornea of eye. I will delicately
say, also in some forms of sex. A cold sore on your lip can
heal & 10 yrs activate in the exact same spot. Low immune,
injury to tissue, kissing will do this. I got a lip cold sore
20 yrs later in same spot as before. Left it alone & gone in
2 weeks. In your case, they're oral & could even have started
from a dental visit. Ask your Dr to do a culture swap & send to
lab & ask for the new med out that treats cold sores. Can't
remember pill but avoid sharing drinks/glasses/stick to cheek
kisses/avoid eyes. This corneal ulcer is very painful. Color
code towels/dishes or you'll keep this going. This isn't the
sexual type herpes & your Dr. needs to give you more attn.
Hubby may not have do to his immune system but don't tempt fate!
Try to eat good & get more sleep to boost system. Call doc for
a quick walk-in swab. His nurse can do that.
get it tested. Our 3 1/2 yr old daughter was misdiagnosed for almost 3 years. it was herpes. now with a liquid form of Acyclovir, it never gets to the point you are describing. i had to strong arm my doctor to order the test, he insisted she had impetigo or thrush each time. my ins didn't cover the special $298 test, but it was so worth it.
