a strange question about a buttcrack ( not-a-joke)

This is strange and somewhat of an embarrassing predicament but I am a bit worried. My butt crack feels like it has a paper cut. It's very red and seems like it tries to heal but I never notice any blood or anything. It has never happened to me until recently ( about a month or two) and it doesn't happen often but when it does, it's really bothersome... It hurts and when it heals, like most things, it itches. I'm sure it isn't a problem with hygiene because I shower every day sometimes twice a day.
I wonder if it may be my excessive use of thongs? Is this something I need to worry about or is it something simple that I can treat easily?
If you know anything about this, please reply! Again... This is not a joke. (unfortunately)

Mostly monilial intertrigo. Clortimazole powder would be of help.

I had almost the same problem. I would get dry in that area and the skin would crack. (it was dry near my tailbone area) I brought it to my doctors attention during a routine pap and she recommended I use Aquafor or lotion anytime it feels dry, just like you would with any other dry area of skin. I haven't had the problem since. Hydrocortisone cream may help with the itching while it heals. I would bring it to my doctors attention at your next routine exam. Hope this helps!

A question to ask  is where is the cut located? Sometimes over washing that area causes your bodies natural perked tics oils to be washed away. When the skin dries out it will crack. Think of chapped lips. If the cut is closer to your anus then it could have been caused by a hard stool coming out. If so, are you straining when you use the bathroom? If this is new, you might just want to have your gynecologist or gastroenterologist look at it just to make sure it isn't something more serious. Hope this helps!
