Nauseous & Post-nasal drip every morning!

I'm 25 now, but for the past 10 years, I've frequently woken up nauseous, upset stomach, exhausted (even after a full night's rest), and with tons of post-nasal drip. I appear sluggish and tired in the morning and it leads my friends and family to conclude that I'm just really lazy, but they don't know the struggles I deal with every morning just to get out of bed and stay alert!

I've also been having sinus troubles all my life in addition to having allergies to a lot of things (especially dust and dust mites). The last time I went to the doctor, he said the same thing he's always said, "you experience a lot of stress, so you need to engage in de-stressing activities and sports." Which I understand, but it doesn't help me once and for all solve this problem that's been plaguing me all my life.

What should I do so that I can wake up like a normal human being? What kind of doctor should I go see who can help me solve this problem?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Chronic sinusitis is often allergic and can be due to mold infection too. A damp wall in the house, carpets, and ACs are all potential sources of mold. The other possibility is deviated nasal septum. Nasal polyps and tumors, worms in stool causing high eosinophil counts, gastric reflux are the other causes.
The treatment will be complete only on removing the cause. Hence please consult an ENT specialist (you must already be under one) and discuss these possibilities. Depending on the cause treatment will be prescribed.
Possibility of gastric reflux should also be looked into. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take care!

It does sound like allergy, with the cold mornings, yes even here in CA , I find my nose is drippy and I sneeze, I have pegged it down to my heating, as when its off the symptoms dissapear, may be due to dust being pushed around when the heat is on, change the filters regularly if you have central heat and Air it may help, also perhaps a humidifier ...
