No One Can Figure Me Out!

Okay, so for many years now I've had a bunch of symptoms and Doctors always give me the clean bill of health and send me on my way. I feel like **** and Im getting beyond frustrated at this point, so maybe you guys can help me out.

I should mention that there have been two moments in my life where my symptoms have gone away for a bit and I've felt human again, but then a couple of months later they resurface. The sevarity of the symptoms varies as well, from non-existent to persistent on and off.

Here are my symptoms on and off:

Swollen Lymph Nodes
Allergies, both Environmental and Food
Ithcy Inner Ear
Hearing decrease in one ear
Buzzing and Ringing in my head
GERD
IBS
Swollen things in back of my tongue
Eye Lid Twitch
Anxiety
Depression
I can't gain weight, although when I first lost weight it was because I barely ate, but now I cant gain a pound.
Red rings around eye lids/on eye lids, depending on the severity of the allergy
Itchy eyes
Mild fever every blue moon
Chronic Sinus Congestion
Lethargic
Blurry/Double Vision
Fluctuating Body Temperature
Male Yeast Infection
Candida
Random Tingling in Hands, Arms, Legs, Feet, Head
Dizzyness + Lightheaded when I stand
Intense Hunger

These are the symptoms I've been experiencing for about 3 years with no doctor yet being able to tell me what the heck is wrong with me. My blood work comes back fine, so I need to figure out what are the next tests I can do?

Next time I go to Doctors I will request a Lyme and an ANA test to check immune antibodies for an auto immune disease

I've had alot of the same symptoms for the past 2 years. With as bad as I was feeling I was sure the doctor would be able to find out what was going wrong and I would be back to myself in no time! Instead I've been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, cfs. Which is all ********. I was about to give up, but decided to get my medical record from a recent hospital visit.. While I was in the hospital the doctors said it was anxiety as usual and they just blew me off. I was shocked when I looked at my medical record because alot of my tests came back abnormal and I found out that I have hypothyroidism. I also have ketones in urine even though I don't diet or exercise. It's weird though because I can't gain weight. I eat mcdonalds every day and never gain a pound. I've actually even lost 10 pounds without trying at all. With my TSH levels being so high I would think that I would be gaining weight. I know I have to get more tests done, but it's just so frusturating dealing with the ****** health care system. DONT TRUST DOCTORS. Seriously get your medical record and make sure that you know your test results were normal. Also, doctors mostly do 'routine' blood work so make sure they are acutally testing other possibilities.

Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
Well, you have your answer now. All the allergies are causing the symptoms along with gluten sensitivity. You need to look at your diet carefully to see that you eat food free of gluten and gliadin. Mold is very notorious for causing allergies, rash, asthma like symptoms, general body weakness and fungal infections. It needs both antigungal local applications and systemic medications to overcome the problem. Consult a good internal medicine specilalist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi Doc,

I did an basic allergy test consisting of the main food and environmental allergies.

It came up that I am allergic to Dust, Mites, ALL types of mold, bermuda grass, cat hair, dander, and red oak or something.

I want to say that my exposure to the mold growing in my parents AC unit has led to all of these symptoms, but that would be rather rash. I'm almost positive though. If anything, being exposed to it has worsened my symptoms, which is why now I live on my own.

Beth, I wish you the best of luck, as I know how frustrating this is and pin pointing the cause is very difficult. Beth, have you considered your environment? I've read countless articles that your home can make you sick.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Gluten and Gliadin sensitivity can cause all your IBS like symptoms, your inability to gain food etc. Gluten is a complex protein present in four main grains---wheat, rye, barley and oats. If you have gluten intolerance, then you probably have celiac disease or Non Celiac gluten sensitivity. You could also be having other allergies. A skin test or RAST test needs to be done. What is important is you must find out what is causing this allergy. Common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, cosmetics or drugs. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin ***** or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Seasonal allergies are generally due to pollen or dust.
Diabetes too should be ruled out as this results in persistent fungal infection.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

Thanks Ence, I made an appointment with an internist that specializes in allergies and immunology.

I just got my ALCAT allergy results back, and it says I have a severe reaction to Gluten and Gliadin.

Could this correlate with whats going on in my body?

Sounds like an overactive immune system.  See a doctor that specializes in an overactive immune system.  What I do for mine it when symptoms are bad take Benadryl or Sudafed to bring down my immune system.  I have to be careful not to bring it down too far, because then I get sick with a cold or flu.  Steriods also help with the immune system.
