I am having same problem in my 37 weeks. It started 3 weeks ago and it is mostly in my right arm. It hurts so bad I cannot write/type. I am still looking for tips to help it because I cannot elevate both arms lying down as your tip says. I do keep my arm warm and during day put warm water while I wash dishes and run it over afterward it feels better. I am hoping it does go away after labor, but my doctor says it lasts 2-3 months even after labor takes time to go away.

Hi

Thanks for the post! How are you now?

Please do not worry! This is a common problem in pregnancy. The thumb, middle, index and half of the ring finger become numb, have tingling sensation or pain during pregnancy because the carpal tunnel at the wrist, through which nerves run, swells during pregnancy. The pressure causes these symptoms which could also spread to the hand, wrist and arm. The symptoms will go away after delivery. Meanwhile you could keep the arms raised on pillow at night. During the day hand and arm movement keeps the swelling down which due to fluid accumulation increases at night.

Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care! All the best for your delivery!
