Numbness in toes with no apparent causes

I have had numbness in toes in my left foot. I have had an EMG - negative, cholestrol is within range, and glucose is fine. All my other blood tests are fine. There is no tingling. Any advice on direction to persue? The numbness is spreading, very slowly. It is not in the big toe but the second and fourth toes.

i work alot with patients and it sounds like it a neurological problem possibly a pinched nerve in your body causing numbness in your toe. Usually in your lower back is where the problem will start. try a nice massage to losen tense muscles and relax your body or talk to your doctor about refering  a neurologists.

thanks for your comments. I have been in consultation with doctors.  I don't have nerve injury, ms, frost bite (I live in an extremely hot climate so this highly unlikely), leprosy, diabetes, poor circulation or faulty foot wear. This is the reason I asked for some advice and direction.
Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Numbness of the toes can be due to pinched nerve, poor circulation, faulty foot wear, diabetic neuropathy, leprosy, nerve injury, multiple sclerosis and frost bite. This needs to be investigated before a final cause can be pin pointed. Please consult a doctor. Take care!

I appreciate your advice. It's a direction I hadn't thought of. However, I have never experienced backpain, but it's worth a try. Thanks.
