How long have you been taking the Concerta? Did the symptoms appear a short time after starting it? How is your diet....are you eating enough and drinking enough fluids to sustain your body? Was a 24 hour Holter Monitor done on you in addition to the EKGs, if not one needs to be done, or perhaps even a 30 day Holter monitor? Did they perform orthostatic blood pressures on you to determine the ranges in your pressures? Are they still investigating the cause for you? A quick fix to raise your blood pressure, is to drink a cup of caffeinated coffee or a mountain dew, since caffeine elevates the blood pressure, but you need to know WHY you are having the decreased blood pressure. Please, for safety's sake, with ALL changes in position for you, DO IT SLOWLY. In other words, prior to getting up from a laying down position, sit on the edge of the bed for a few minutes to allow for normalization of your pressure. When going from a sitting to a standing...stand still by a chair that you can hang onto for a few minutes as well. If you fall, faint, pass out (called syncope), or whatever you want to call it, you are putting yourself at risk for a head injury or fractures someplace. Please let us know what you find out!
