Hello

HI I'm 37 and I'm freaking out not sure what's going on... My husband was rubbing my back and right in the middle where my spine is there was about a finger width in size patch of What he thought was hairs and if you touched them it felt like a splinter the pain was horrible it would take my breath..I told him to try and get them out so he did and omg it was unbearable it took us 2 hours to get a couple out.. But they look like little pieces of splinter wood and one looked like a twisted piece of fiber he had the hardest time getting them out cause it hurt so bad felt like needles in my back and still does please help me I have pictures I can show thank you for your time

I am a counselor not a medical person, but wow I would be freaking out too.
Here is on option you might consider while thinking through your past.  I would assume if something penetrated your back recently you would know this and I also assume you would know if you had an implant in this area that released fibers.  Ruling those out, you could have had an injury a good time ago where particles penetrated your back.  Be it a car accident or a childhood stick in the back.
I have seen cases where particles existed for years before working their way out.  It happens so gradually the body does not respond once healed around it.
I do hope you are healing and better now that they have been removed.
