Blood Tests

I had my thyroid removed back in Nov 2004 due to low stage follicular variant papillary carcinoma. For the past couple of years now my blood work has been a little puzzeling?  My WBC has been slightly elevated and now 11.7, ABS lymph 3.9 Just a few weeks before, my WBC was 11.6,  ABS Neut 7.6 (I know these are within normal ranges however.... )Just recently my ABS BASO was 0.1 and now 0.2 and just the ast(sgot) went from 39 in 2006 to 52 at present.

This past year I found out that I was also Vit. D deficient which the doc said is due to not getting enough sunlight. Now am on 1000 IU for the spring and summer daily and 2000 IU for the winter months.

Does anyone know what could be happening.

All I know is I feel run down and at times feel as though I'm coming down with something and then a day or so will feel a little beet but with the run down feeling.  My tongue seems sore and coated white which the doc gave me pennicillian and it seemed to help for a couple of weeks and now it's back again. Even popsicles or anything cold makes it feel as though it's frostbitten. (Gotta bring this to his attention again because he doesn't know that it's back!

I'm due to have a TSH done again at the end of this month. My last TSH in Feb was 0.25 along with Vit. D at 37.

Check out info on www.parathyroid.com. This is info by the leading parathyroid doc in the US. There is info on there about damage to the parathyroid gland due to thyroid surgery. A lot of time people will have a low vit d but its really cause there parathyroid is out of wack. Docs treat with vit d, which is actually the worst thing. You need to read this info and get your thyroid checked. Good luck and keep us posted.
