Two kids same home, unexplained sickness...

Hi, one of our friends, have two girls in a household of three kids, who have in the last 6 months come down with weird medical symptoms the doctors have yet to figure out either child...

One around 8-9, suddenly got very tired, she sleeps all the time, and has gained a lot of weight, because she doesn't get exercise.  This was very sudden, she was always health and active.

Her older sister, just two days ago, had what seemed like an asthma attack at school, but it got really serious with convulsions, and now she has no feeling in her legs.  She is 14.

I'm not sure the issues are related, they are still testing both girls and trying to figure out what's going on.
I was thinking maybe black mold or something??  One sister, an identical twin to the 8-9 year old has not shown symptoms of anything yet.

I found this medical link for numb legs after asthma attack.

Apparently it's a fairly common after affect,  and will slowly resolve.

I'm not sure lack of activity would cause a child of a healthy weight to suddenly gain a lot of weight due to inactivity.  It sounds like there's a thyroid issue?

I don't remember with the younger,  but the older more recent girl getting sick, she was just fine, no flu/pox etc, it just hit her all at once ,  I will check into Reyes syndrome symptoms though...

Thank you!

Have the girls has Flu or Chickenpox recently?
If they did, were they given Aspirin by any chance?
(Reyes syndrome)?

All the best to you.
