Several Problems with Body in general. Very worried.

mfd
Hello, I am a very scared. About 1 month and half ago my friend had a cigarette that was ruled up with supposely marijuana. I for some stupid reason joined in. He got it for free from some guy who did not know what was in it. I smoked it and then got home, as soon as I got home I started having problems with my body. I got severe heartburn and my heart started to beat very fast. That night I got a headache that would not go away. It was on my left and right temple. After a week I went to the doctor who ordered a CT Scan. There is no tumor which I was very worried about. I still have the headaches, just they aren't as bad and I have a TMJ appointment this week. That's what he thinks are causing the headaches. Anyway, About another week later I was having trouble breathing. It felt like I had pneumonia but the doctor said I didn't. Since I smoked that ciggarette I have felt like I am "high" everyday, and it's horrible. I am forgetting stuff a lot more now, and it's bringing me down. I also did not mention that I get stomach and liver pains throughout the day. The weird thing is my friend did not get sick like this. I am thinking it could be an allergic reaction. If anybody could help me that would be great, I am very scared I got poisoned/cancer/etc. I am generally a paranoid person. Thank you.

Thanks everyone for you concern. These cases in the past few posts are almost identically to mine.

emii- I also am having problems with my eyes. Sometimes I will get double vision. But all the time my vision is "distorted". It's like watching the world through a blurry tv screen. It is really freaking me out but I don't know what to do about it, and I also am getting headaches daily.

Something like this actually happened to my younger sister, after she smoked Hashish.  It took her two years to go completely back to normal.  But she did recover.   Gosh - I guess this happens to a lot of people....

On the other hand, I took an antidepressant for a few months 7 years ago.  I am a person who almost never smoked pot or took any drugs & I have never drank more than a little wine here and there.   But 7 years on, I have never regained my original personality since taking Prozac.   It really changed my brain & the way I experience the world.

I think people should not forget that just because ssri's are legal does not mean they are fully understood at this time.    In fact, they are FAR from being understood.

So please be careful...  if you have felt yourself improving then there is no reason to think you can't continue to improve until you are 100% again.

Good luck to you.

I actually have a lot of guidance on this subject. See about a year and a half ago now I got a similar story. I had been smoking weed happily I dunno I'd say 10-12 times and one night I was smoking with my friends and all the sudden I just started feeling tingling and it moved throughout my entire body, and I started hullucinating etc... To make that story short I was sent to the hospital and I was really high, they tested me and confirmed the only thing in my system was marijuana. The other people smoking with me were totally fine.

Since that time I've always felt high pretty much. And I started expiriencing all different kinds of krap. Like I felt I couldn't breath, my chest hurt, sometimes i had headaches, and a **** load of other things.

So your story doesn't sound weird to me at all. They finally diagnosed me with "Anxiety" because I would have panic attacks and basically there is nothing wrong with me. I have issues focusing a lot, I never remember having that before.

For me it's been a year and a half now and I feel quite a bit better now. I stayed in my room for like 5 months blacked out the windows and never wanted to come out. They put me on all kinds of anxiety medicine which made me dizzier then I usually was etc... the only thing that I've found that helps whatsoever is Ativan and Xanax which are like a calming medicine some kind of valium.

So my best advice to you is that you are probably expiriencing anxiety and worrying won't help you. The best thing to do is take some deep breathes and just tell yourself that your chest doesn't hurt or whatever it is your expiriencing and just wait it out. I don't know if I don't feel high anymore and anxiety has gone away or if I've just gotten used to it but I feel like a pretty happy person again.

I don't think I'm completely back to normal, I don't think I'll ever be completely back to normal but the way I look at it is that I made the choice to do the marijuana and I need to deal with the consequences the best that I can.

Although to be honest I don't think it was actually the marijuana I think it just "triggered" my anxiety. Seems more logical.

If anyone would like to talk to me I'm alright with that you can AIM me at: smurfbulljtang

You're welcome!

I just remembered another book, that actually SAVED me when I had a repetitive strain injury.  The same methods described can also resolve many kinds of headaches.  Much of the information is online, so you might not even have to buy the book.  And if you happen to live in Los Angeles, this book is available from the library.

Anyhow here is the link, then I suggest you read through all of the sections carefully (especially make sure to click on the parts relating to headaches):

http://www.triggerpointbook.com/bookintr.htm

As far as fasting goes, it's really amazing but let me just say again that I don't recommend doing more than just one day a week, at least for 6 months.  And it's important to start eating healthy for at least a few days BEFORE you fast because otherwise you might detox too quickly and that can be hard on your body.  You need to drink a lot of water during this time!  I really hope you can get a hold of Paul Bragg's book to guide you through it because it is very inspiring and positive.

By the way did you get especially stressed out emotionally right around the time you were smoking this substance?   Sometimes that can cause a chain of physical reactions.

mfd,

I don't know enough to theorize about your situation - but recently I have become interested in health and body cleansing in general.  I like things that are not too complicated and I think that juicing can be a very healthy practice for detoxing, and giving the body a chance to cleanse itself.

Also see if you can check out from your local library a book called "The Miracle of Fasting" by Paul Bragg (he was born in 1881 and died in a surfing accident when he was in his nineties).  He advocates a weekly, one day fast.  Drinking only distilled water (I actually use Spring water) with a trace of lemon and honey.

Supposedly when you do this your body can focus on getting rid of all the toxins that are stuck in there.  It turns out that fasting is the instinctive response of all animals when they are sick or injured.  Again, it gives the body a chance to 'clean itself up.'   There's a lot about this on the internet too, but with fasting there are also a lot of fanatics and you don't want to go too far with it.

For the one day fast, it's good to eat healthy for a few days before because if you suddenly withdraw from coffee or sugar or junk food then it can cause really bad headaches in its own right.

That's what my headache is like. A tingling/burning sensation that will last all day. I feel disconnected from the world completly. I have not thrown up again, luckily but have liver/gallbladder pains. I have to go to school like this, and it is really affecting my life. I have a doctor's appoitment on Monday.

is it bad to get a tingling feeling, along with a really bad headache that last all day? could it just be stress?

cc11 and emii- Thanks for the replies. I have yet to find out what is wrong with me, I am starting to think I have a digestive problem. Last night I vomited for the first time in 5 years, I haven't vomited today but it feels like I might again tonight. Emmii, I know how you feel. It is horrible, in a sense it feels like a got "permi-fried". Is this possible? I just hate it, and this is severly messing up my life. If you guys get any updates, keep it posted. Thanks.

Since the night that i smoked weed about 2 month's ago, I have also felt high ever since that night and i have no idea why? I was hanging out with one of my guy friend's and what happened to me didn't happen to him. I felt okay for about the first 20 min. of the high and all of a sudden I didn't feel right. I had smoked everyday for the past 6 months before this about maybe 2 time's a day. I feel like my memory has gone bad and I can't really remember much. "What happened to me". When he was driving me home all of a sudden I felt my JAW split in half and than of what i think was blood rushing through my intire head. I didn't know where we were going and I was getting so scared. Than when I get home i thought I was dieing so I told my grandma that I had been smoking everyday because I was really freaking out and my head wouldn't stop hurting and i threw up even though i didn't really eat anything. Now every single day i am getting REALLY SEVERE headaches. With a tingling feeling that goes all through my head and face. I get sharp pain's behind me eye's.. Mostly "right". My temple hurts, and I always see weird flashing lights, blurrs, and colored dots. I honestly feel like I'm high for life and I don't know what the problem is. My heat basically hurt's all day everyday, and sometimes i feel like blood is rushing through my head and it feel's so weird. But than yet again I'm not sure if it's blood. I went to the hospital 2 times in the past 7 day's and all they told me was i was having a panic attack and the reason for that was because i worked my self up. I was telling them my symtoms and they said that I'm just probably depressed. Which I am, but feeling this pain every day just isn't right. I always tell me self I wish that I NEVER SMOKED WEED. That's how bad it is. Also I hear this weird noise sometimes that sounds like a screech or something. Than I feel/hear something popping in my head atleast once everyday. Everything i look at is how i would look at thing's when i was high. I just for some reason never feel SOBER. I'm not scared to leave the house and I never want to do anything anymore. I don't know if it's my JAW?.. I'm just really really worried... someone please right back A.S.A.P.

Dear mfd,

Thanks for your post and sorry to hear about your symptoms.  My friend is experiencing something similar.  He smoked marijuana about 3 months ago, and is still suffering from it.  Right after, he felt a bad taste in his mouth, knew something was wrong, felt a tightness in the throat, sliminess, irritation, and other problems.  Since then, he has been suffering headaches, stomach and digestive system pains, throat problems which change day to day, some blurred vision and other problems, and after having seen several doctors, is no closer to finding out what is wrong.  Basically, as you, he is hoping that they go away on their own without getting worse, causing disease, or leaving any serious consequences.  At first, he suspected there was some mold in the stuff, which has toxins in it, and can cause a host of probelms, but now unsure.  please keep posting your situation, and maybe we can collaborate.  I will check back to this post and maybe we can get in contact.  While our situations may not be the same, they may have comonalities. peace.

It's not.  Whatever was in it, enough time has gone by for it to be out of your system.  As you said, if it were some far fetched weird dangerous chemical, your friend would have gotten sick or had similar effects.  If it was just an allergy, it would have been long out of your system.

I think you are worried about it too much.  You yourself said you were a paranoid person.  Hopefully the TMJ thing will work out for your headaches.  Beyond that I don't know, but I think you can put the anxiety over the cigarette thing out of your mind.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate the help guys. I am putting the cigarette thing behind me. I get overly paranoid of things like this, it's just me. If I had strong stomach pains I would automatically think it was cancer. Thanks for the help. I think the TMJ treatment should help, hopefully.

I went to the appoitment for TMJ today. And that's the cause for my headaches. The good side is that he said most of the symptoms will go away after 3 months of this bite plate thing, then I will need braces. The bad side is the COST, wow it is a lot. And these other symptoms I have that are totally unrealated. I get bad stomach and liver pains, and feel gasey all the time. I also feel "high". I just don't know if it's related to that cigarrate or not.

mfd, do you recall if the stuff you smoked tasted of smelled any different than ordinary pot?  (considering if you've ever smoked it before).   I again emphasize that marijuana alone will not cause this problem especially if you just smoked it once.

I firmly believe that yes you could smoke a neurotoxin without becoming immediately ill with vomiting.  However, I honestly doubt this was the case.    I don't know enough about poisoning to help you, but until you can find an answer, I would highly recommend spending 50-100 bucks and getting an hour long professional massage.   It will help ease your mind some and focus on an answer.    I would also highly suggest that you arrange an appointment with a general practicioner at a major University hospital, since he will probably want to refer you to one of their neurologist they will be much better equiped to handle your complex case.    Good lucky buddy, and don't smoke anymore weed for now

Thanks a lot. I have a talked to a neurologist and got an appointment but it might not be for a month or a couple months. My case is not as severe I guess. The only thing I remember from that cigarrette is that it was not marijuana, and there was a hard chunk in it. I kind of think I am having a allergic reaction to whatever was in it. Thanks again, I appreciate it.
