Hah! Science understands less then 10% of how exactly our biochemistry works. We haven't even started research on some of the receptors we have and we got no clue what they are for. Even those we did research on, we still don't fully understand, like histamines for example. All we know is how to block them, and that's about it. Tylenol - everyone's favorite painkiller that blocks another type of receptor - I'll quote: "it's exact mechanism of action is not yet fully understood."
So again, blocking any receptor in our body will do absolutely NOTHING to yeast, bacteria, or a virus. It will only make it's life easier, as blocking anything prevents our bodies from functioning to it's full potential.
Get some Gold Bond anti itch lotion to help with the itch. It really works. Hope the Vit. C works for you too.
If you see a dr. he will probably prescribe Diflucan for the fungal infection.
Sorry HollyMWD713 - I disagree about dermatologist knowing everything about skin problems. I have been to four and they can't figure out what the rash on my back is. One said it COULD be eczema - but it's too "set in it's location" another said psoriasis, but it's not typical. One just gave me a shot of lidocaine and scooted me out of his office (I was itching before I left the building). The other one tried to "freeze" the "lichen".
Anyway, if you do go to a dermatologist, you may have to go to several before they can come up with something to "cure" a fungal infection.
Not trying to take away any hope of curing this, just saying dermatologists don't know everything. I still have a rash on my back from a bottle-nosed kissing bug - but they can't cure it.
I am going to take Dr. Clark's advice and try the Vitamin C - I've tried everything else.
I came across this information trying to help others and hopefully I will be able to help myself, as well.
wishing you the best
um. Scabies I am guessing. Go to a DERMATOLOGIST, really, they know what is up the all the skin problems and issues....
Steroids tone down the immune system, and antihistamines block the action of our own histamine receptors, and neither does anything at all to the yeast. If nothing, the yeast thrives while the immune system is temporarily weakend by those drugs.
The only real cure for just about anything is our own immune system, and there aren't many ways in which you can help it, but there are million ways in which you can hinder it's effectiveness.
Silverfox67's advice is good, because Vitamin C is an natural preservative, meaning it will kill many bacteria before your immune system has to do it, thus freeing up the resources it can allocate to fighting the yeast, so to speak.
Go to the health food store and buy powdered Vitamin C. Then use it on almost everything you eat and drink for at least two weeks.
Make sure nothing you eat has mold - no dry cereal, potatoes from a box nothing boxed! Only cereal safe is rolled old-fashioned oats (has to be cooked).
No soft spots on your fruit either. The brown spot on an apple is mold.
These are recommendations from Dr. Hulda Clark - not mine.
I read lots of natural remedy books - because I hate putting chemicals/drugs in my body.
Wishing you and your boyfriend the best!
