Swollen libia majora

One side of my daughters libia majora is larger and looks swollen compared to the otherside.  Our family doctor says its just the way it is and nothing has caused it.  Since she was very young around 2yrs, she discovered playing on a toy ride on car that she could be stimulated by rubbing herself on the stearing wheel.  After doing some research I discoved that my daughter was one of a small percentage of girls that masterbated at a young age (between the ages of 1 to 3 they get a hormone serge.)  My problem is that she has progress to rubbing against corners eg. chair corners. Basically I'm asking for a second opinion.  I think her large swollen libia majora is a result from her rubbing.  She is now 4 and it's become more of a habbit.  We are in the process of stopping her habbit with the help of our family doctor...something i should have done sooner but that in itself is another issue.  My two frame of mind at the moment is: 1) If it is just the way  her L.M is, then she may want surgery for it in the future as the doctor suggested.( not something I want my daughter to go through.)  2) BUT if is caused by her rubbing maybe if the rubbing stops her L.M might go back to normal.  If anyone has been through a similar situation would appreciated the feed back.

Enlargement of L.M is normal so you do not need to worried about it. Bt the thing you need to  worried about is her masterbation because it is not good.it can change hormonal levels in body.
God bless her

Actually your daughter is very normal. If it feels good then..........
If she has not pain then the swelling is not likely from the rubbing. If you want to curb that, try distracting her with something else she enjoys. I would trust your physician that it's probably something she was born with. I can tell you that nothing on your body is absolutely symetrical.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You are right. One side of labia could be growing more due to repeated stimulation. Maybe if this habit is stopped now, in future the growth may be normalized and the two sides more or less appear same. For this you will need to consult a psychotherapist or psychologist specialized in childhood behavior disorders.
Hope this helps. Take care!
