Swollen lymphnodes....

Just about a month ago I was brought to urgent care for a swollen lymph node--the night before I had felt discomfort breathing, and couldn't swallow at all. The dr. gave me antibiotics, and I was on my merry way. I was a nervous wreck through all this on a count of my Grandmother passed away of a form of lymph node cancer last year, my question is that even though it went away, now I feel it starting again but  on the opposite side of my neck.  Is this normal, should I go back to the dr.?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.
Please discuss this with your doctor. The enumerated the possibilities can be investigated or ruled out one by one by your physician and dentist. Hope this helps. Take care!

Please go back to your physician.

In my opinion, this is allergy-related.

If the problem persists, I would ask for a referral to an ENT Specialist.
