Tenderness on front and side of the right side of neck above a mole

Not sure when it started since it is only tender when I touch it. I have a brown mole that is on the neck under the area that may or may not be connected to the pain. On one side it is harder than the other. It feels like there might be a lump or swelling there as well. I don't have a sore throat or fever. Any ideas what it might be. I am going to contact my doctor tomorrow. What type of test should I ask for to be done.

Hello~I hope that the doctor was able to help you. If you are still experiencing this pain, then possibly seeing a chiropractor would help, you may have some misplaced vertebrae in your neck, actually, they can cause a knot if they are pressing on nerves.
