Hi
Yes, it is normal to have recurrent yeast infections. This is seen more if there is incomplete treatment or if there is repeat infection (from a sexual partner) or if there is underlying diabetes. The complete treatment has been explained in the previous post. At times both partners in a sexually active couple need to be treated. Get a PAP smear too if you are sexually active. Get your blood sugar tested too.
Hope this helps. Take care!
I called my doctor today and asked about the lichen sclerosus, he says it is impossibly rare for me the have it, I am only nineteen. He has my results and it is yet another yeast infection, so I guess my second question would be is it normal for recurrent yeast infections? At least once every two months, and never around my period... my doctor says they are not related issues causing them but if this is the case then why do they always come back and seem to get worse each time?
I have been checked for endometriosis and PID neither of which came back as possitive. Thank you though, I appreciate it.
Hi, I had a cyst burst on my ovary and then had another on the other side. I have suffered with chronic severe pelvic and abdominal pain for the last three years. Gastrointestinal symptoms, period symptoms, sex symptoms, and urinary systems. I was diagnosed with endometriosis a couple of weeks ago. Research it online, some websites say it can cause ovarian cysts, and skin disorders.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Thick white discharge with itchiness and swelling could be a yeast infection or candida infection. This would need treatment with both, oral antifungal taken once a week for 4 weeks or more and local antifungal application.
Thick white vaginal discharge can also be due to cervical cancer or lichen sclerosus. Lichen sclerosus is another problem that should be seriously considered as this also causes itchiness and swelling along with the discharge. Skin biopsy is confirmatory. A PAP smear should be done.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
