Hi,

I wonder if someone can please give me some advice.

Is it possible to have 2 horrific black swollen shut eyes from a fall with a bump to the forehead?

My friend literally looks like she was in a car crash & was in hospital for 4 days due to this 'fall'.

Im really worried that she was infact attacked......................please please advise.

Thank you!!

As doctornee stated, it is entirely possible to have this kind of an injury from an automobile accident.

While the emergency room records may be confidential, the police report of the MVA can usually be obtained from the precinct. That should be definitive.

I'd give her the benefit of the doubt.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, it is possible to have two black eyes with a bump on head or forehead. Below the skin there is a common space extending from forehead to cheek. Hence if you have a bump on your forehead, the water, blood and chemicals and cells that collect as a result move to lower areas like your eyelids, cheek etc. The color changes that occur are also normal. The redness turns to reddish blue tinge and then yellowish depending on the stage of healing. Ice packs and anti-inflammatory analgesics help.
However, since there has been a blow to head look out for symptoms such as balancing problems, fainting attacks or vomiting in your friend’s case. It would be wise to get him examined by a doctor as soon as possible to rule out any traumatic injury to brain and eyes.
Take care!
