Pinky finger hasn't healed properly

I broke my pinky finger 10 months ago, and have had surgery on it about 2 months ago. The break was at the base of my pinky.

I finally got the cast off two weeks ago, but as yet, the bone has grown back between the break.

What could be the reason that the bone has not grown back?

are you a smoker? Smokers deffinately take longer to heal. Or maybe vitamin deficient

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
One possibility is that the fracture was a complicated one and full immobilization was not achieved. Diabetes, poor circulation, infection, hypothyroidism, low Vit D, parathyroid gland problems and smoking can hamper bone healing. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please consult your doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!
