What can be causing my severe spasms seizing my chest, throat, and voice?

Several weeks ago I suffered from the strain A flu. I had my flu shot and took Tamiflu. The following week I developed a non-productive cough with such lungs tickling that would make the cough aggressive at times. This persisted for several days as I then began to develop spasms which I thought were bronchospasms which traveled up my throat and closed up my vocal chords making me appear to gag whenever I would speak. This has now gotten worse each day. I went to my doctor who gave me an inhaler which didn’t help. Several days later I went to the ER, they performed a CXR, EKG, and labs which were all normal. They gave me a Neb treatment which seemed to give me a little relief for several hours. Yesterday I went to an ENT who says my vocal chords are inlammed, of course, which are causing the spasms and gave me  Xanax.  Still...no change! Next week I see pulmonary! I feel hopeful he will help.Has anyone heard of this? It’s affecting my life I am a nurse. I depend on my voice. I can’t be gagging on my patients, in meetings, and teaching!!! I’m worried it may even be neurologic as I had a severe headache and loss of balance with the flu and I have a strong history of migraines.         PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I take vitamin D to prevent cold and flu. Works a charm. Vitamin D tells the killer T cells to kill off bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. Vitamin D levels are lower in winter. I haven't had a vaccine in 29 years. I have this thing about side effects. I don't like them lol.

"Common Flu Shot Side Effects:

Body aches
Fever
Soreness
Muscle spasms
Nausea
Joint pain
Lower back pain
Headaches
Neck pain
Upper back pain"

Hello~It sounds like you may be having a reaction from the flu shot, I refuse to get them, I have never had a bad case of flu yet, I do not trust the side effects.

I noticed you have a history of migraines, have you considered seeing a chiropractor? If you have some misplaced vertebrae or nerve impingement, you will get headaches and loss of balance. He/she will take an x-ray and will then be able to determine the area that needs attention.

I hope you feel better soon. God bless you.
