Just so you know, the black mold referred to in the forum is "Toxic black mold" or Stachybotrys chartum...For those who live in a cooler humid climate (like the Pacific NW for example) or have been flood victims, it is an unfortunate reality...The toxin from the spores causes some pretty horrible health problems...It can cause nerve damage, brain damage, allergic type reactions, chronic respiratory problems, etc...and this is in healthy people..for immune challenged folks and young, it can be fatal...If it is present, the spores invade every porous surface that the air touches...

first off it is not all hype my family and I have lived in our apartment for 9 months when we found out that it was infested with black mold we were having problems around 3 mnths after we moved in and did not know why until we saw mold growing on the outside of the walls then we got it tested black mold is serious you could die from it if you have children they could suffer serious brain damage as for the hype black mold releases a myotoxin that is what does the damage the mytoxin gets into your blood stream it is more than respirtory problems which are caused by the mold spores that are now locked in your respirtory system. signs and symptoms are different for eveyone only you can know but go see an allergist get your home tested for stactaboctrys-black mold and seek help trust me the sooner the better
