I need help with what might be wrong with me..please

ok.. this is a little embarrassing, but I have reached my limit it seems on help for this. I have had multiple experiences with this , but 3 times have been very scary. One landing me in the hospital for sometime with many tests and no positive results. I was given medication that made it worse.
I can be simply sitting and it will happen to me. I am attacked with a, dizziness in a sense, that causes me to lose function of my balance and I lose perception of just about anything. I feel like I am stoned drunk, like when you are laying in bed and you close your eyes and the room spins. We are told to put a foot on the floor and that helps. The sensation is like that, but it hits me so fast and hard, I have either fallen or my vehicle that I am driving ends up off the road. There are no warnings of this...it simply just happens and I am out of it. I might be learning how to deal with it because lately i find a  place to sit or lay down and it fades.
The best way to describe the feeling is this,
hold a bucket of water in your hand by the handle... the water are my eyes .. now twist the handle back and forth.. the water stays in place but the bucket twists and rotates around the water ... the bucket will be my head and body. It is really scaring me and I have no insurance.
Does anyone else have this? I need help.

what ever is wrong with me, is not of normal illness. I spent a week in the hospital doing test after test and they could find nothing wrong. a family history is no help. the meds the doctor gave me were making me worse. after 2 months i quit taking them and it went away. it returned after about 4-5 months but only for about 3 weeks and has gone away again. thanks to all of you for your responses.

You need to stop driving because you are  danger to everyone else on the road. You need to see n M.D. as of yesterday.

There are many possibilities, and seizures must be ruled out.

You should head for an emergency room.

I agree with earthgirl..sounds like Vertigo which is an inner ear problem. Can be caused by lots of things. The thing is you need to maybe start with an ear nose and throat doctor. Most will let you pay in parts. Tell them what the problem is and maybe you will have skipped the "middle man general doctor" who will just send you to an ear nose and throat guy. I hope and pray that you wil be well soon!

Sounds like vertigo.. is that what the doctors gave you meds for? Seems like that can have any number of causes. Can I assume they ruled out seizures?

Do you have any other conditions? Hypoglycemia, diabetes I or II, Celiac...?  How long has it been happening, and how often? Any conditions that run in your family? Are you on any medications? Did anything change in your life when this started - diet, lifestyle, stress, trauma...?

I mean, yeah, you're going to have to see a doctor at some point, but maybe we can narrow things down a bit so you can make better use of their time, and see the right person for the job. You might also want to ask for a copy of your medical records, read through them, and see if anything "jumps out" at you.

Best of luck, and be sure to report back if anything changes. You never know if someone else may come here later looking for answers to the same problem, and maybe your experience will help them out.
