What part of your back? Consistent? When do you notice the pain?  
Burning usually indicates a pinched nerve. Have you tried ice packs?

Hi,
Burning of the back can be due to sun burns, local irritation, allergy and insect bite etc. Herpes infection can cause burning limited to certain segments of the back. Also neurological factors need to be looked into. Consult your Doctor for an evaluation.
