burning rash on head, face and back

I have had a rash that comes and goes with tiny pimples on my scalp, chest, back and face for a month now. I have been to a dermatologist and internist. Neither know what it is but want me to take prednazone (sp?). The internist turned up with an elevated liver enzyme of 65. Whatever that means.  Anyway he said that could have something to do with it. I have had elevated liver enzymes as far back as 10 years ago but I don't drink, do drugs or have any form of hepatitis or HIV. ( been tested) They said it was fatty liver. The doc said this could be connected but has not really given me any idea what it really is or why it is so severe now and lasted so long.  Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks for your response. I did refuse the oral steroids because I agree it only treats the symptoms and not the cause. Now to the problem of finding a doctor that is willing to search it out. I feel pretty strongly that it has something to do with my liver enzymes.

I called that wrong when I said corticosteroid.  I just mean cortisone.

I would not take oral prednisone for something like this.  Doctors love that stuff, but it offers symptomatic relief only and it has so many side effects.  Wouldn't you be upset if your blood sugar went out of control because of it?  They always say short-term use is safe, but you never know when you will have to use it for something really severe, so why waste it on something you can live with until you figure out the cause of the problem?

You could try a topical corticosteroid cream, but go very easy even with that.  Try it on a small area only.  Very important with the face because you can end up with breakouts from stopping use to the face if you use too much.

Have you started using a new shampoo or body wash recently?  Any other new hair or face product?  New sunscreen?  New hat?  Gotten a lot of sun recently?

I would check for food allergies.  The common ones are dairy, gluten/wheat, soy, nuts and peanuts.  Say you had a milk allergy when you had a kid, suspect dairy.
