Burning, callusing, peeling fingertip pads

I suddenly started to have a burning sensation in all of my fingertips. It actually started with my right hand. I have noticed little red spots, not bumps, but spots. Then they start to peel, then slightly callus. They do not become numb, just lose some feeling due to callusing. They burn moderately, and peel unevenly on the pads. I am going to seek a doctors opinion. But I want my second opinion before my first, if that makes sense. Please, just several ideas. Then I will know what questions to ask.
