Sounds like they are taking the right steps to care for you, I would make sure you take your full course of antibiotics until they are gone. sometimes when you stop them before you should it can recur the infection and it will come back with a vengeance. don't want that happening again! If after all of this is sorted and you're still having issues, make sure you write the symptoms you are having down on a piece of paper and bring it to the docs. Did they do a culture? I hope so, that way they can pin down the exact strain of the infection and pair you with the correct antibiotics.. some antibiotics don't cover the specific type of strain that is infecting your body. so i'd ask about the culture to be sure and ask about the specific types of antibiotics that you might possibly need. Good luck to you and take care! sincerely, Elizabeth

Chances are she had some for of bacteria in her mouth at the time of oral..Did you have a STD test done? if not i would go and get checked, otherwise let the meds run their course and it may just be a UTI, which everytimes i've had one i've been on meds for anywhere from 14-21days..I know i wasnt much help but good luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Recurrent UTI can be due to either a stone in the urinary system or due to a STD. The latter is more likely in your case. Hence get a complete STD panel done. Also it is possible that the antibiotics you are taking are not acting. What you need is a urine culture and sensitivity test done. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently. Please do not take any antibiotic without this test because if the organism is not sensitive to the antibiotic, it will only sit quietly for some time and then flare up again.
If you want to get a culture done then you must wait for 72 hours after stopping the antibiotic to get proper results. Under antibiotic cover at times the culture is negative. Meanwhile you can drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice or apple cider.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
