could i be have an allergy to something?

Ive been to so many doctors and through many tests with no answers could I possibly be allergic to something?
I have swelling around my neck glands and around my ears. I believe my glands are swollen, but the doctors say they look normal. however I can tell the difference and they are swollen to  me. I have tmj but I believe it is a result of improper jaw alignment to make room for the swelling I experienc. I feel spaced out at times and irritable. No fever. Body aches at times and joints. mostly Im just frustrated by the swlling under my chin arround my jaw. I have some pressure in the area as well. Sometimes my eyes will feel strained as well.
I just want to rule out allergies. Ive had blood work for the normal ones, but im wondering if it could be maybe a med allergy or chemical i am un aware of.
thanks so much for reading, I hope anyone can add something to my puzzle.

They said it probably was not an allergy, as it was the only "allergy" symptom, and also said I definatly have TMJ, But i still feel like something else is going on. Ive had my vitamins checked and thyroid.
Are there different allergy tests, or just one test given to rule out ALL forms? They said I was given one, but maybe it is a different kind, like medications or something in my house or could it be a splenda thing. I use it regularly, but you would think I would have other symptoms huh??? sorry to lay all of this on you, i am just so confused.

Thank you for your thoughts.:)

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, allergies do cause swelling. This can be ruled out by an allergy test. However other things like thyroid, anemia causing water retention, Vit D deficiency and TMJ causing inflammation in the surrounding area should be ruled out too. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined in this light.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
