depression?? Self Harming again why am i doing this? please please help me

I know this isnt a physical problem but im to scared to go to my doctor or talk to anyone. Ive been self harming for two years only 4 or 5 times a year when i really cant handle the stress/depression. I did it again last night then stood up looked in the mirror and wondered why id done it..then today at work i was trying to stop myself crying over nothing then all over a sudden i didnt feel the need to cry anymore. Its almost like its coming over me in waves but when its there its unbearable and i feel worthless. Could it be to do with my horomones, pill or just majourly bad PMS?? Im 18 :(

There is this project witch I found so special. It's called the butterfly project. It's simple.
Every time you want to self harm, draw a butterfly instead, and name it after someone you love.
Everytime you harm yourself again, all butterflies die.
Still you need to find a psychologist or some other specialized help but it's a start, preventing it'd happen again.
I still selfharm after hearing of this project, because my parents don't let me draw on my body. Afraid that I'd want a tattoo later on in life.

You definitely need to see a doctor and figure out what is causing your depression/stress. Its not something to be ashamed of. You need to get to the bottom of it before it gets worse.

Crystaldhall4 is right...The best thing would be for you to see a therapist.  I know that it's scary to admit to what you're doing to other people (I used to self-harm, too) but it's the only way that you can get help.

Although it's difficult, I would also suggest telling your parents if you think they'd be able to get you help.  You deserve help!  No one deserves to feel like they have to hurt themselves.

Honey,

The best treatment for you would be to seek psychological help. I am not trying to sound judging but I have a family member that does the same thing. A primary care doctor can't give you the treatment you need and therefore should seek mental therapy from a psychologist, counselor, or therapist.

You need someone you can talk to that will help you get to the root of the problem, not just fill you with a ton of medication and send you on your way.
