fatty tumor on shoulder

I had surgery on my left shoulder 3 times to reattach the muscle to it. Now the back side has a big mass on it. I just found out the Dr. thinks it fat and muscle that is making of this tumor. My shoulder is in severe pain all the time. I had a lateral tear in it a few years back and I got lower back pain from either a herniated disc or buldging disc.  I also have degenerating disease through out my back. my knees are getting weak from my back. knumb spots in my feet also. I cant concentrate from the pain. have trouble sitting from pain walking and standing. what all do I need to ask the Dr. when I go see him. Should I ask for disability

You could get temporary disability to see how you do. It is possible to get better even though it seems dismal now. What you need right now if you don't have it is pain relief. I don't mean permanent but something like Tramadol or vicadin for  a short while if you don't have anything. Perhaps also an antidepressant too. Pain, depression and fear go together.  You can taper yourself off these in about a week or two.  Were the buldging discs recent? If so, they usually heal in a couple of months.  After the inflammation goes down walking will help with the degenerative disc and stretching. I read a short good book on whether to have surgery  by Dr. Brown called Conquer Back and Neck Pain: Walk it Off. It really helped my back pain. It takes a lot of slow stretching and small increases in walking (like trying to get across the street or across the room). I had a torn ligament in my lower back and I couldn't even wash myself. So I did need help and it sounds like you do too. Biofeedback helped me too (later). I don't know if this helps but I would ask for some type of disability but don't give up.
