your with holding on this one, it seems to me that this is much the same case as a boxing fracture, doesnt necissarily mean that its broken as one would think. but it does require that you go to the doctor to have it set, and after a month, he might have to break it and set it with a pin that way.

Pain and swelling in a single finger can be due to fracture, tendon injury, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis or due to infection. It is difficult to comment on net. Consult an orthopedic specialist and get an X-ray done to start with.
