You could have allergy related vertigo...but you could also be suffering from ativan side effects withdrawl...was your dose increased? decreased? Try PT...fing a physical therapist that specialises in vestibular restorative therapy (VRT) for balance exercises...but GET OFF THE ATIVAN! It can be causing those symptoms... did they do a ct or mri of the neck?

I don't know if this helps at all... but I am having similar problems. I am a 13 year old female experiencing episodes where I don't know where I am or who I am. I have also fully passed out 2 times. I have been to lots of doctors and my family is also running out of faith in the doctors and the money is ofcourse being spent left in right on medical bills. To help your husband... I can suggest some of the tests to mention to your doctor.. These have all been run on me.. no answer yet.. but maybe this could help your husbands case. I have had a CT scan, brain MRI, thyroid test, EEG, 24 hour EEG, Cardiac MRI,... not sure what most of the cardiac tests are called... i would also suggest seeing a nuerologist and cardiologist if you havent already! Good Luck!
you should get your neck x rayed... i have the same thing... and have nerve interferance from being out of line in my neck....
you might have tmj i have this it is temporomandibular joint disease i was in pain for 2 years before the doctors found out what i had it was a ear nose throat specialist who finally thought this was what i had and he sent me to a dentist that specializes in tmj i was so dizzy i had to lay in the bed all the time now i have to wear a splint in my mouth and it really works. look in your phone directory for someone that specializes in tmj like a dentist or chiropractor hope this helps
Hi is it possible the sinus infection has never fully gotten better, they are so hard to get rid of and it can cause your husbands symptons. Not sure if you did a follow up CT scan for the sinus infection but I would to see if its still lingering. Good luck for your husband.
Hi,
Your husband has been on antibiotics that are in the cephalosporin family of drugs, which is also in the penicillin family of antibiotics. These drugs have side effects of causing dizziness, insomnia, ect. These antibiotics require you to drink lots of water. They also say that they can be taken with food, which is true, but to get the full benefits of these antibiotics you need to take them on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water and lots and lots of water through out the day. The dose that you take at bedtime needs to be so that you have not had any thing to eat 2hours before taking that dose and be sure you have nothing to eat or drink (except water), until breakfast.
These infections take awhile to get rid of, so you may have to be on them for awhile. TAKE CARE..GOOD LUCK..KEMOSABI
I would think that an MRI would be the next logical step, and maybe a visit to a neurologist.
