Something I should have mentioned...My hubby's head pain was initially caused by sinus inflammation that crossed the blood/brain barrier because of high altitude pressures...It was explained to him that the inflammation, and the cause of it, was being "pushed" across the meninges (brain coverings)...because he didn't seek help when the pain became excruciating, the inflammation got way worse, and now he has scarring that will probably give him this head pain the rest of his life...If your pain worsens, don't be a "tough guy"...Go to the emergency room...Get it taken care of...Don't let it go, and regret doing so later...

Hello and ((((((((((((((HUGZ)))))))))))))   My poor hubby has gone through the same thing since having meningitis...Every time the air pressure changed, whether it be altitude change or weather related, and oddly in the middle of the night...He was diagnosed with cluster headaches that can last MONTHS ...He is finally getting relief with Topamax...The migraine meds barely touched him...there are other things that can cause the same symptoms...Altitude sickness can be like this, but usually it is accompanied with vomiting, confusion, and a global headache as time progresses...Any sinus problems? I'm sure there's a doc around there somewhere that can sort this out for you...Good luck.

If you believe you are suffering from altitude sickness, you immediately need to get some medical help. Altitude sickness is an emergency. Please get some help ok. I am originally from CO and got sick going up Pikes Peak. I know you need to eat carbohydrates I think and are supposed to go up in elevation slowly. Only other thing I can suggest is also getting to a lower altitude of course. Please get better. Well wishes.
