Gastro Prob Returned w/ Menstrual (hormone related?)and After ABX Seemed to Help

So, It February 18th 2014

I had last made journal entry with the belief that I had possibly suffered some kind of undetected infection since the November 2013 severe stomach ailment took 3 months to go away and happened to improve by about 95% during an antibiotic treatment I was given at the beginning of this month.

Interestingly though, this menstrual cycle was delayed by just over 2 full weeks (which is probably peri-menopausal in cause).  This 2 week delay happens to have been at the same time as use of the antibiotic.  I literally visited the doctor the day before my period was scheduled to start.

I have now started my menstrual cycle 16 days late, approximately 6-7 days after completing my antibiotic (during which time I felt increasingly better and better) but now yesterday on day 2 of my cycle my upper abdominal discomfort has begun to resurface and bowel irregularities/urgency have returned.  It is not at the moment nearly as bad as it had been in the previous 3 months but it has definitely returned, seemingly, to accompany my heavy period that was delayed for two weeks.

It almost feels like I could have endometriosis attaching to my large intestines and elsewhere as these symptoms also accompany an inflammation type feeling in the rib area and chest area, as well as other joints still hurting, aching and being stiff....but whatever it is also makes me very nauseous similar to morning sickness which is also why I am compelled to link it to hormones.

However one other thing I did do along the journey is laid off my supplements quite a bit, actually altogether for a short time,  especially my vitamin D and magnesium.  As my bowels began to return to normal I slowly also began to add back smaller doses of vitamin D and magnesium....so I may have actually added back the culprit.  Guess I will eliminate these again to see if that makes a difference, although it would surprise me if the very small doses I have added back could really wreak such havoc, but who knows?  Crazier things have happened.

Anyway, just logging this with other stuff in my journal to try to chart the connections.

Certainly if anyone has any input PLEASE feel free to comment.

I hope whomever might be reading this will have a very blessed day!
Rhonda

If you are in good heath, you do not need supplements. Make an appt with a gynecologist, and e sure to tell him/her everything you have been taking, the antibiotic, and each and every supplement or other OTC or Rx.... and take your journal to that GYN appointment. Good luck, Rhonda...and be sure to tell the GYN about the bouts of constipation and diarrhea..... be an open book and they are more apt to be able to help you.
