Thanks for the info.I had him read it.He's ok with it.Small amts will work.
He is a little constipated,so we're working on that as well.
While at the hospt. he had the operation which involved the removel of the small part of the intestine and a small piece of the bowel. He had no appetite since the operation.
I was told it will that time.Easier said than done, He was a big eater prior to all of this.
He's 16 and this is killing me to see him exprience this pain.
Hello,
Loss of appetite is a common symptom of Crohn’s disease and even due to antibiotics.
Give smaller, but more frequent meals to your son and add powdered milk to foods and beverages. Also add diced meat or cheese to sauces, vegetables, soups, and casseroles.
Ask him to snack throughout the day on calorie-dense foods such as nuts, hard candy, and dried fruits. You can also give him nutrition supplements.
If there is still no improvement then medicines like megestrol (i.e., Megace) and dronabinol (i.e., Marinol) can be taken. For that a prescription and consultation of a doctor are mandatory.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your son is doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
