When your ears and throat itch, that usually means that your body is fighting some irritant, like bacteria, fungal or viral problem.
The yellowish thing coming from your throat could be some rubbish that has come away that was stuck in the Eustachian tube.
If the yellowish smelling thing is like runny and soft, this will be phlegm sometimes called mucus.
Make sure that you drink plenty of warm drinks and while you have this, keep of dairy foods and milk as that can encourage mucus formation. If your ears begin to get swollen and painful and you start to feel unwell, then make an appointment to see the doctor as when this happens you may need an antibiotic. Do not poke about in your ears because this could cause damage to the ear drum.
When you wash your hair, make sure that you rinse off any shampoo and any that gets into your ears.

Typically it's because you have fluid in your ears, as to why they itch. It's not in a location that you can reach to "dry" up with a Q-tip either. As far as the throat, it's also related because if you have allergies, fluid can build up in your ears as well as mucous that runs down the back of your throat causing itch, cough, and even pain at times. If you have no other symptoms, like headache, fever, fatigue, or nausea, an over the counter decongestant allergy medication may help you...like Claritin D or Allegra D...always buy the generic versions of those to help save you money, because they are quite expensive for a month's supply. If that medicine doesn't help, or you have those other symptoms I mentioned, you may have a sinus infection and require an antibiotic to cure it! Good luck!
