Also it could be bed bugs, there has been an out break in the US, several hotels and malls have been effected. Them little boogers suck blood like ticks.   There has been claims that they are being packed in from other countries in new clothing, or items with fabric type materials. They are recommending that people dry their NEW items like clothes from the stores in a hot dryer before hanging them in the closet to prevent an outbreak.  LOL there's going to be a lot of clothes not fitting a lot of people I'm sure. But I know you're probably like me if there's something in there you want to know what the heck it is.  An exterminator may be the only one to be able to determine this.  Have you tried sitting in the floor in that same room to see if you have the problem with the carpet too?

ANYWAY,  I'd try treating the couch and at least that room's carpet by having it professionally cleaned with Hot Steam Cleaning and if that doesn't work try treating it with something for bedbugs, or lice both should be strong enough to kill the bugs/mites/whatever they are and their eggs.    I hope this helps.

it may be flea's they do jump around very quickly and do bite and crawl. try going to the vets and getting a household fle spary and if you have pets do them to with some other stuff, the vets would be able to give u this. You dont neeed to have pets to get fleas they live in the grass, also someone who visits u who has pets could of carried them into your house
