itchy anus

i have moderate to severe anal itching.  this has gone on for about two years.  in the last year, i have also developed anal warts, brought on by HPV that my girlfriend and i have passed between us.  but the itch came long before the warts.  i have never had anal sex or anything like that.  my main concern is that i see that anal cancer, a fairly rare cancer, has some of the same symptoms that i have.

I agree-----make sure when you clean after a bowel movement really good----small hemoroids could play small role in this----also do you use perfumed laundry detergent or fabric sofeners  when washing your underwear?

Try wiping with bady wipes (unscented). Try hemeroid pads anyway. My husband puts them in the fridge.It's nice and cool relief.

Pinworms can also cause this, generally more often in the night hours.
