Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Vulval or vaginal itching could be due to thrush or fungal infection, bacterial infection, trichomonas infection or herpes simplex infection. It could be any other STD too. You need to get a complete STD panel done. A vaginal swab should be cultured. If you have a discharge too it could be either of thrush or fungal infection, bacterial infection, or trichomonas infection. Alternatively it could be Tinea cruris which is again a type of fungal infection and too much scratching could have caused the sores. Herpes Simplex should definitely be looked at.

Please consult your gynecologist regarding this. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Same partner sometimes does not matter, they can stray, if you think there is no way he would stray... then I agree is could be yeast infection or if you are menapausal then you may need some estrogeon cream for that area, oral HRT will not supply that area fully with what it needs.. GOOD LUCK

Sounds like it could be thrush, which can have all of your listed symptoms. Have you had thrush before? It is basically a yeast infection caused by a build up of Candida albicaans. Some people get a yeasty smelling discharge as well. It is usually caused by an upset in the pH balance of your vagina. This in turn can be caused by things such as hormonal changes eg. around menstruation, taking antibiotics and also washing the area with soap. If you shave down there soap or shaving cream can get inside and also lower the pH. You haven't given alot of information and if you are worried you should see a doctor. If you think it is just thursh then you can get thrush treamtment from your local chemist and it will clear it up in a couple of days.
