I have migraines, and so does my 15 year old son.  There are a lot of great meds out there to help with migraines. A neurologist is an important first step.  Neurologists have the knowlege about migrains your GP doesn't.  There are many meds you can take daily to reduce the number of migraines you get in a week/month/year.  Also, there are meds to take when you initially get the migraine.  For these ones to work, you really need to know your body, and take it at the first sign/onset of the headache.  Make sure you lay down, in a dark quiet space.  Sometime a cool pack on your forehead, or the back of your neck can also help.  I really hope this helps, and you feel better soon.

You have enough symptoms that the doctor should have ordered a CT scan or MRI of your brain- did they?  If so, were results normal?

Migraines can cause pain in the eye and can affect vision- did you see neurologists about this (did you see a second one for a second opinion)?

Did they check your blood pressure?  Did they check your thyroid function?  Did they check to make sure you were not iron deficient or anemic in any way?
