My Neck and back

I woke up about a month ago with the worst pain in my neck and i was unable to turn it to either side for a little while. After a few days I noticed a spot in my back about 1 inch and 1/2 below my bra strap that is bulging and it hurts to touch or when i sit straight up. I have no idea what this is but I can hardly stand the pain in my neck anymore. I have gone to the Chiro, and he says that I am out of wack, just told me to come back. I have gone to my doc and he says we'll get you to get some xrays, well I am waiting for the results, its been a week. Any ideas what this could be, anyone?

Based off of "pain in my neck and i was unable to turn it to either side for a little while. After a few days I noticed a spot in my back about 1 inch and 1/2 below my bra strap that is bulging and it hurts to touch or when i sit straight up." i could be a pinched nerve i get them quite frequently. I use a hot towel, a warming pad, or medicinal pack to help alleviate muscle tension around the nerve and try to stretch it out (this will hurt a lot but it will feel better sooner) also i use a muscle relaxer low dose. But the bugling may be a sign of something more serious so don't stretch till you feel the area of pain grow a little smaller.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain can be due to wrong posture while sleeping. The lump in the back could also be the cause of pain. Either it is a bony lump or it is a cyst or abscess that is causing pain. A CT scan of the area should be done if the X-rays are inconclusive. Since it developed overnight, it could be an abscess or cyst or an intervertebral disc herniation or bulging. Hence it is important to first find out whether the lump is superficial or from the bone.
It is difficult to comment beyond this. Please let me

Hi...could be several things...a pulled muscle or a disk issue....the x-ray will only show if it is indeed ur disks...a MRI would  be needed to see if the muscles r in a spasm.

U can request copies of all testing including blood,MRI, CT scans and x-rays to be sent to u with the reports....call the facility where u had the testing done....and if u need further testing request the copies when u register for the test.

Good luck
