possible leukocytoclastic vasculitis

hi I had the flu the first of February and on week after I had a trip to er with a 103 fever. The doctor I was seeing at the time diagnosed it as mono diagnosis seemed right I had low fever 100-101 and just felt bad. 4 weeks later still running a fever every day about 4-8 pm never over 101 with headaches and fatigue I had a neuro visit and she suggested I get a second opinion. the second opinion was I never had mono. well its 3 1/2 months later and still don't feel good and having low fever and night sweats. I have had mri, ct scan, tee scan and spinal tap that were all ok. My blood work continues to show elevated white blood cells, sed rate, reactive lymphocytes and a skin punch biopsy showed perivascular lymphocytic inflammation. my question is my doctor taking a guess by treating me for vasculitis? I am currently on a large prednisone taper and not feeling any better except fever is gone. I also have restless leg syndrome and anxiety. I am going to see a rheumotoligist but earliest appoint is 2 months out. I have a good family doctor but he has told me that he is out of stuff that he can check. I have been through 3 1/2 months of this and my next doctors appointment is 2 months away should I look into another route beside a rheumatology work up? any suggestion advice is very much appreciated and thanks in advance
