for the past two years i have been suffering from a strange sensation of itching crawling feeling on my body, but mostly on my face. this all started after i was diagnosed with scabies. my wife and i received treatment, i continued to have the strange itching crawling feeling, it's like spiders types of bugs. i have visited several doctor, one said dried skin, which was ruled out after the med did not work. a dermatologist also said a special type dried skin, the med did not help either, then he sugested that i had a special type of skin nerve ending condition and gave me a antidepression med that made me very sick; i stopped using it and i never went back to the dermatologist. this thing is maddening and embaressing when i am in public and i have to scratch my face. the itching is all over my face, at first it started on the left side and now has spread to my ears, nose, mustash and eye lids. nothing seems to help, nut creams with a cooling feeling helps for a few minuts and sarna original did help some for several minutes. i would like to know what i have and is there anything that can help me.

Thank you for your input and sugestions; I would rule out Morgellons, I have never had Lime Disease or have had a compromised immune system. The part about very dry skin was also ruled out by my doctor and the dermatologist I went to see.
I am convinced that what I have on my skin is some type of microscopic bug. I say this because I have noticed that when I rub my face with my hands or use a wash cloth on my face I feel the itching crawling sensation on my hands some time later, and at times I feel like something is biting me.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Very dry skin and disorders of thyroid gland all can precipitate a crawling sensation.
The other possibility is Morgellons disease often mimics scabies. The disease is  believed to be caused by weak immune systems in people that have contracted the tick-borne Lyme Disease at some point in their life. It can also be a fungal infection like Tinea corporis.
Please consult a dermatologist to rule out these causes. Take care!

I get this sometimes at night (Mild Pruitius) i usually just take basic allergy tablets and that works although i can feel drowsy afterwards, but MSM is said to aid itchy skin, but i feel sometimes its certain thingsthat  set it off like seeing bugs of flies; so maybe some meditation to help you relax when ever you feel the itch sensation, like listering to relaxing music or thinking about anything other than the itch sensation.
