right arm pain now in shoulder in back

My pain started about four and a half months ago when I was shoveling snow. At first it was only in my right elbow area. Living on a farm, and being unable to not use it, I plowed on. Gradually the pain started radiating throughout my entire arm, and I became unable to lift even a glass of water. About 2 months ago, I got an elbow brace at the local pharmacy, and it seemed to help for a bit. Within the last 2 weeks the pain has become almost unbearable, waking me at night. I have to sleep on my back with my arm in a specific position resting on my stomach in order to be able to sleep at all. When I wake up in the morning, my entire hand is asleep and tingly. Today, when given a good strong hug, I noticed severe pain right over my scapula in my back, and shooting down my entire arm. Could this all be some sort of carpel tunnel gone untreated?
Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like tendonitis not carpal tunnel. Tendonitis affects the elbow-wrist while carpal tunnel affects just the wrist. It could be both. I have both and get shots to help control the pain. I also know what you mean about sleeping. Mine sometimes hurt so bad it wakes me up. Try sleeping in the brace and you may also want to get one for your wrist. The shots do not hurt and they last a couple of months. You may also want to try Black cherry extract for the inflammation. These are what I do for mine and I hope they work for you. You also need to rest your arm. I know a lot easier said than done but it will allow your tendons to heal. Hope this was helpful. Best wishes.
