I have one theory, but it might be wrong...?
Do you wear shoes regularly that put pressure on this area? If this has happened for some time, a little nerve there could have gone dead. If it IS this, that's not so bad.

Is it also very white in that area? If so, there could be a lack of circulation, and that would need checking out. Or if you are diabetic, get it checked out straight away.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Numbness at the side of the big toe can be due to pinched nerve, poor circulation, faulty foot wear, diabetic neuropathy, leprosy, nerve injury, multiple sclerosis and frost bite. This needs to be investigated before a final cause can be pin pointed.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
