Coumadin interferes with clotting of the blood.
A "brain bleed" can result, even from a mild blow on the head.
Headaches may or may not be caused by bleeding in the brain, but the differential disgnosis requires a physician, and preferably an MRA.
I read your question and thought of my husband he too is on cumadin and has severe headaches. He has been on it for 5 years now and ended up in the ER over a headache the first year and the ER DR said he was having migraines...they sometimes last for days and he just takes over the counter meds. It's very aggravating! I hope you find an answer soon. Good luck to you!
Hi, I too get really bad Migraines. I had tried everything, then my doctor put me on Foricet. It has caffeine in it and pain medicine too. Once I took that it has worked every time.. So maybe you can talk to your doctor about this medicine to take care of your migraine..
A migraine when you are taking coumadin suggests an immediate consultation with your physician.
