sinus infection relating to knee replacement

I am due for a total knee replacement in 2 weeks.  I have a mild sinus infection, with some blood.  I am wondering if this would pose a danger for infection occurring in the knee after surgery.

I would definately get on an antibiotic for sinus infection before surgery; I work for an ent doctor. Alot of times not a problem but that is a involved surgery and wouldnt want to take any risks. Please get treated for sinus infection before knee surgery.  If no improvement they might want to postpone.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well, even though the two are not related, it is best to be infection free before a surgery. Sinusitis could also be allergic in nature. Hence, your anesthesiologist would be interested in knowing the status of your sinusitis before surgery if it will be done under general anesthesia. I suggest you consult an ENT before surgery. Hope this helps. Take care!

no, I don't think sinusitis have to do with your knee surgery. But you better drink lots of water for your sinusitis, boiled water is better but have it cool first before you drink it :) .
