swollen optical nerve

I'm reading these other questions but no one seems to describe it like my problem. Occasionally I get blurry eyes and get feel like my equilibrium is off. I've had it last from 30 seconds to 5 or so minutes. The longer it lasts the blurrier the vision and the more I'm off balance. At the worst times, I need guided to a chair to keep from falling over (or so it feels). This has been off and on for more than 6 months. The first few times I didn't think anything about it. It doesn't happen often. Can't say I'm really worried about a tumor because nothing has happen fast. They did find a swollen nerve at my eye exam so I am getting an MRI soon and seeing an opthomoligist. What do you think the equilibrium has to do with this?

The MRI is a good idea.  Are you seeing a neurologist?  Make sure to have one take a look at your results.

Hi there usually when your equilibrium is off that has to do with your ears ether liquid in your ears or ear infection or problem with dranage  in your cannal or the tubs in you ear aren't able to pass the air properly through. My son suffers from this he got tubs put in his ears wow what a difference. For the pain in your eyes try cold cucumbers on each of your eyes for 5 min on 5 min off for 15 min. And massage your temples. I hope that helps please let me know.
